Our old stone farmhouse Colli di Travale, in origin an ancient convent joint to the powerful Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano, is situated in the wide estate of about 75 ha, at an altitude of 500 mt.
It’s surrounded by wonderful woods, extended as far as the eye can see; it is also near the seaside (Follonica, 40 minutes drive).

Our forestal estate, biological and sustainable, is situated near Travale, in the northern part of the province of Grosseto, between Sienese Chianti at east, and Maremma at west.
You will run along a magnificent route through some of Tuscany’s most beautiful scenaries. At only few steps from us you can find Montieri, Gerfalco and Travale, ancient villages famous in the Middle Age for their silver mines and scenes of fight and political conflicts.
Recently we’ve restored a small village in stone, Prati di Travale, surrounded by the nature with wild landscapes on the natural reserve of Cornate of Gerfalco Fosini.
In the Natural Reserve there are some historical curiosity: the Red Ammonitico quarries famous to have supplied the rose marble for the floor of the Cathedral of Siena and signs of an ancient mines of silver of the 12°century. The Cornate are considered one of the better places for the night observation of the stars for the very low light pollution.

There are beautiful chestnut woods for direct collection by guests of marrons, chestnuts and mushrooms. We’ll show you our trail "natura" with teaching panels on the fauna and on the flora of Maremma.
